Final Fantasy XIII | Adamantoise 1:29 Speedrun and Farming Guide
Post-Game Adamantoise, Adamantortoise Speed
Run & Farming Guide (No Summon / Shrouds)
Hi everyone, back for
more guides in FF13, Now here are
some guidelines and stable tactics on how to dismantle these beast into pieces
as fast as possible so it will be a convenient source of Gil, CP and Trapezohedrons
for tier three weaponry. Note that this method doesn’t include Summoning or using Shrouds in the reason of the party can now fight the turtles head
on with their own strength at this point of game (Post-game) and I’m not in favor of using summoning technique.
I rather prefer battles
that are fair and square relying in my own skills. I am not saying I didn’t use
the summon tech, actually did it
couple times before post-game. Until I knew that the party can stand on their
own, I stop using it and harness my skills in battling these creatures head on.
I’m satisfied after that; always remember that I am not forcing you to follow
my footsteps, if you want to use the Summon,
Shroud tech it’s really up to you. There are dozens of guides or videos at Youtube regarding this method. Follow
your heart and standards.
(DV: 1 two species
speed run)
Characters
Set Fang as the leader and she will deal
tremendous amount of damage against these tutles, Vanille for her debuffing talent and Snow in casting Daze for
damage bonus, making the turtles cry in pain.
Equipment:
Fang:
Weapon is Star level Kain’s Lance (Preferably Dragoon
Lance or Taming Pole) or what you
currently have. For accessories, give her Morale
Talisman, Star level Gaian Ring, Sprint Shoes and a Genji Glove. Do not replace any accessories among the three
characters. The whole process was calculated and designed already for smooth
outcome and you don’t want to outbalance it do you?
Vanille:
Weapon is Star level Nirvana (Strictly from Belladonna Wand for
its effect.) For accessories, Magistral
Crest, Gaian Ring, Sprint Shoes and Genji
Glove.
Snow:
Weapon is Star level Save the Queen (Paladin). For this
matter I prefer equipping him with weapon characteristics near to Snow’s nature. (Being a brawler, sentinel) I want to respect him by not forcing him to equip such as
MAG base weapons and forgetting his
physical strengths the entire game. I am aware that he is a Saboteur in this fight and has MAG boosting accessories. I will defy my
own standards by equipping him a tier three weapon came from Feymark. He has a role to play this time
and I compensated it with accessories that will help his mission but not to
take his identity. Of course follow whatever your heart is telling you.
Continue, for accessories x2 Magistral
Crests, Gaian Ring and Sprint Shoes.
Paradigm
Decks
We have only four decks
for this battle.
1.) RAV, RAV, RAV (active deck)
2.) COM, MED, MED
3.) SYN, SAB, SAB
4.) COM, COM, SAB
Procedure
Watch the video above
if you haven’t played it yet. Follow all the steps prudently so you will not run
into any problems. I stated that all of this was calculated already including
tactics. One mistake can make a huge difference. Do not worry, it’s not
difficult, you just need to track all the steps by heart.
Things
to Focus on
I will list and explain
all major steps so you can focus and don’t lose track, aside from just watching
the video. Take note that this guide will explain all possible causes of
failure that other guides didn’t bother to elaborate. I spent so many hours
looking for these chances of failures and now my goal is for you to be aware
and not ending up like me, wondering why I am failing so many times in the past.
Stability is always my goal in every
guide that I am working with. If things go wrong, don’t be shy to hit restart.
Adamantortoise:
1.) Tri – Disaster Deck:
Hit and stagger the Left Leg
with 9 Thunders (Don’t exceed). After
that, quickly hit “Repeat” on the Right Leg as the first stomp
hit you, making the two A.I. (Van, Snow)
change their target, stagger it with 11
Thunders this time. Quickly, change deck.
2.) Discretion Deck: Drop a Highwind on left leg first and then
“Repeat” on the right one. Immediately after it hit, change your deck. Take
note that the targeted leg, must be on the ground or else you will not damage
it enough that will ruin the process. Another thing, There are cases that even
that leg is completely on the ground, Highwind
will not deal “double damage”.
I want to lessen this negative
instances that is why we need to hit the Right
Leg with 11 Thunders instead of 9. With enough Chain Bonus or %, even if
the Highwind deal a single damage, it
will successfully kill the Right Leg.
One last thing, Fang’s life must be
“green” before Highwind hit and not
in caution “yellow”. When her HP is at green, attacks are augmented therefore
stronger attacks she can offer (it applies to all characters) especially when
dealing with the Right Leg, we need
fire power. But if you want less time, stick to 9 thunders but it is risky.
3.) Espionage Deck: Cast Haste, Bravera on Fang as soon as she has been damaged by the tortoise’s fall or else
the command will be “cancelled”. Haste, Faithra on Vanille and hit “Repeat”
on Snow. Observe carefully and wait Imperil to stick, change deck
immediately. For speedruns, battle time will be affected on how long the Imperil will stick (assuming that you
did all the steps perfectly), so restart if it is taking too long.
4.) Tri – Disaster Deck: Hit “Repeat” and blast and stagger its head
and fill the chain gauge with 17 Thunders
or less (almost 3 full ATB Gauge). After
the last thunder, quickly change deck (Chain Gauge is around 950 – 970%).
5.) Devastation Deck: Lightning fast hit “Auto-Battle” then finish the tortoise.
For
Adamantoise:
Basically, all the
tactics are the same compare to tortoise with slight additions, except this guy
is very unstable. Talking about the stomp attack occurrence, he can easily
tip you off the process, but the key is, sticking to the plan even if you're
interrupted by his stomp or the commands
were executed sooner than you’ve expected. Be sure to time every move that
you’ll make. As I’ve mentioned tactics are very the same we just need to add a
little bit more.
5.) Devastation Deck: Because of having a
lot more HP than Tortoise, we will add a finishing Highwind at the end of our attack and polish the job. Just hit
“Repeat” after the first attack and the turtle is done for.
Personal
Comment:
It seems difficult at
first, but if you will keep practicing and time your attacks carefully, this is
actually an easy battle. With this kind of setup, these creatures can be pawned
more than a minute. My fastest time for Adamantortoise
was 1:22
while for Adamantoise was 1:29 (see the video above).
For more details how to
switch paradigms and attacks effectively, watch and observe
my video above. Hope you find this guide useful and thanks for reading. I want
to thank God for letting me write this guide and for lending me wisdom.
Keep in mind I did not discover these procedures by my own; the credit belongs to
whoever discovered this and to the members of Gamefaqs. I developed it for better results and for
clarity (other guides don’t have) so the user can practice this with ease.
This website and I conceive this internet site is really informative ! Keep on putting up! What do cows eat
